Artist Statement

My artistic journey has been characterized by a deep commitment to honing my craft in both acting and technical theater. It all began at the Children's Theater, where my love for the stage was ignited and a spark was lit within me. From there, I continued to pursue my passion at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (BTWHSPVA), where I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a multitude of roles and experiences. Alongside my acting endeavors, I have also delved into the world of silent theater, also known as mime. This style of theatre shows beyond doubt the effect silence has and the proves how much can be said without words. I have also began to dip my little, baby pinky toe into the pool of lighting design and have lit up for notable productions such as "Into The Woods" and "10,000 Brain Cells Under The Sea". Seeking to expand my knowledge and abilities, I have actively pursued various training opportunities, participating in classes encompassing monologue, scene study, advanced lights and sound, and my favorite, you guessed it, mime at BTWHSPVA. Additionally, I have had the privilege of serving as an intern at The Linden Grove Theatre Co. youth camp, where I was able to impart my knowledge and passion onto the aspiring theater artists of tomorrow, just as others once did for me. My dedication to my craft is unwavering, and I am determined to continue growing as an artist and leaving an indelible mark on the world of performing arts.
